Happy St Patricks Day everyone, have a drink and be Irish. I know I will be pretending to be Irish today, this is one of my favorite holidays.
I have been working with some of our old Amik video lately and here is one of the clips. I think the fishing has gotten better since then.....what do you think?

The Provincial Championship
My oldest daughter played in the bantam girls provincial B championship this weekend. It was her 5th tournament and yet to come home with a medal.....this year they had an awesome chance to be the best. The tournament was held in a small town called Carman, the same town I played in the Manitoba Winter Games 19 years ago when I was a bantam! My team ended up winning a bronze medal after losing the semi-final game in overtime. I was optimistic that her team would be in the gold medal game here this weekend.
They started the tournament with a 3-2 victory over the Neepawa Natives on Friday in the first round robin game. Then there were lots of things going on for the girls around town.
Hockey is a great sport and these are the times they will remember for ever. I know I still do. The girls are always having a good time!
Friday night there was a banquet and a hypnotist. Taina laughed for 2 days after it was over. Girls from every team took part and performed awesome! Here they are showing off their muscles.
After winning their other round robin game 4-0 they finished 3rd out of 10 teams. They then had to play a quarter final game to advance to the semi final Sunday morning. Again the girls won, although it was 0-0 after 2 periods they came out in the third and out scored Morden 5-1. The 2nd place Portage Terriers were their opponent Sunday morning at 9 am. An awesome game that headed for OT after we tied it at 1 with less than 2 minutes remaining! But, the Terriers prevailed early on overtime. Disappointing but now they played for the bronze.
The girls were flying against The Pas Huskies and jumped out to a 2-0 lead right away, both goals scored were assisted by my daughter Taina and scored by her friend Lannea. The Pas was a tough opponent and it was the roughest girls game I have ever seen. Right up my alley. Scuffles occuring after many whistles and lots of great chances at both ends! We took a penalty with 2:30 left and The Pas capitalized to tie the game at 3! Overtime here we go again, 2 in the same day! Very stressful even for a spectator. The outcome this time was a much happier one as we scored to win the Bronze medal! Finally Taina had won a Provincial medal. I was so proud of her and her team they worked so hard and deserved the win.
