The weather has been great up here lately. People coming out of the bush with beautiful tans and big stories! Jeanette and Cherrington changed over today and both camps did great. Jeanette had the Patenaude family fishing it this week and they want to rename it Big Snake Lake. They caught lots of big northerns! The largest was 42 inches with another measuring 40 inches caught from the best spot on the lake, right off the dock by a 13 year old fisherman named Cody who also had a 38 incher! The 42 inch monster was stalking the boat before being caught. Stealing an 18 inch walleye right off the stringer before hitting Ben's 17 inch walleye T-bone style and was landed like that. Those northerns are so aggressive! The largest walleye was 26 inches caught on the first day by Poppa, they caught lots of fish in 4 feet of water, even when it was nice and hot. It was hot enough to swim even! Poppa went in 3 times!! A good vacation all around.
These pictures are from Cherrington Lake. The Reutzel family fished Cherrington for the first time and had a blast! Tom had the fish of the trip pictured below and heavy 43 inch northern!
A very healthy fish, look how thick it is.
Erich caught a Lake trout right by the cabin and found a honey hole in the evening right outside of the bay where the cabins are with lots of these!!
Mike caught this nice dark walleye
Here are some pictures from some of my favorite guests. The Darsnek party. They try a new camp every year and this year they visited the Cobham River. It is always a good time with these guys. The captions below the pictures are from Jack!
Who said lets go fishing?
Me, me, me I'm first!

It doesn't matter what lake these guys fish, they always do well!
Rob S. from Winnipeg has fished most of our lakes over the years and has brought people from all over the world to experience it with him. Rob knows how to fish and it shows, here is this years proof!
Rob with a fat northern. They fished Vee lake this year and just like most years, they caught quite a few big walleyes and trophy northerns.
Darin from Iowa looks happy with this one!
Rob's wife Diane, she usually out fishes everyone, here she is with a 28 inch walleye. Must be the guide.
Soren from Denmark has been to a number of our lakes. He has fallen in love with the north and looks forward to coming to Canada for "business".....he does put in some long hours, on the lake!
It had been a few years since Franz from Austria had been back to Amik but he made the best of it this year. Cold but the fish were big!

More New Pictures of Big Fish!
Kirk D. and his sons along with Rick and his son have been fishing the Cobham for a number of years staying at Morleys. They are friends with their neighbors, the Erickson party who are always in Daniels at the same time. They said the fishing was slower than normal but still plenty of fish to be caught! Nothing "Huge" this year but there was a 41 inch northern caught and plenty of upper 30's as well. Here are some pics.
The fish of the week!
The Erickson Party were back on the Cobham for their annual trip last week. Fishing was different but was still awesome.
Ice can be a hot commodity in the north, so these guys took advantage of the shady spots on the lake.
Dave with a beautiful 28 inch walleye
Chef Joel cooking shorelunch. It tastes way better over an open fire.
Ken with a good walleye.
Here are a couple of Pictures from the Parke boys. They hail from California and had a great time on Cherrington.
The Stanley Party fished the week before on the Cobham and caught some nice fish. There is a lot of water to learn and they will be back next year to fish those waters again at the same time.
I have more pictures and stories to tell as they come in. Keep watching.

Lots happening at Amik!
Most of our outposts changed over in the past few days and the fishing reports have been coming in as well. Most camps reporting slower then normal fishing early in the week and pretty good to great overall later in the week, a couple of lakes said the fishing was slow compared to normal for this time of year. We have more new pictures and stories to tell, I will get them up this week. There are some good ones!
The weather has turned to summer in the last couple of days and we had some fog around at 5 a.m. on Saturday. I landed to wait it out south of Blackbirch and it took 3 hours before it lifted but it was good after that and everyone got moved in and out safely, just a little late.
On Friday the team I was cheering for won the Cup, the Penguins! We were just leaving Cobham Daniel after working up north for the day as game 7 started. I was hoping for a good tail wind to take us home so I could watch!
I went fishing with Nick on Thursday and he was so certain that the Red Wings would win!! The underdog prevailed. Fishing Findlay lake for a week will help heal the wounds of a crushing home ice defeat in game seven of the Stanley Cup Final!!!!
